Another day, another tragic carbon monoxide news story. This time is was actress model Dayle Haddon who died in a Bucks County, Pennsylvania home. Another man was seriously poisoned.
Haddon and the other man were found unconscious yesterday in a cottage on the property of her daughter former journalist Ryan Haddon. See https://www.cbsnews.com/philadelphia/news/marc-blucas-hallmark-solebury-bucks-county-pennsylvania-carbon-monoxide/
After three consecutive days of these kind of stories, we are beginning to believe that the timing around the holidays is more than a coincidence. I have been struggling for three days trying to find a causal link but the only one I can come up with is that occupancy increases, people sleep in places that haven’t been used in months. Perhaps it is that carbon monoxide alarms are only put in places that people normally sleep. Or perhaps these out of the way places have alarms, but no one was there to hear the chirping when the batteries expired.
CO Alarms can save lives, but only when they are fully functioning. If you are having company, don’t just worry about clean sheets and towels. Make sure that all of the alarms in your home, have fresh batteries.
